What's In A Name?
MWANAFUNZI, Swahili for "student", strives for unity and cohesiveness among minority students and the professional community. MWANAFUNZI provides a structure and forum, through which students of color in social work and related fields can exchange ideas, participate in and sponsor activities, provide adademic support and serve as a valuable resource to one another and the community at large.

Guiding Principles of MWANAFUNZI

To provide a structure and forum through which minority students in social work and related fields can exchange ideas, provide services and programs of interest to minority students and the community at large

To promote a spirit of unity amoung minority students, by means of collective efforts in participation of activities within The College of Social Work

To provide a means to insure academic support and excellence among minorty students within the College of Social Work

To participate in activities that will increase the enrollment of minority students at The Ohio State University
