Community Service Projects

As an organiation, MWANAFUNZI is commited to the African-American community or The Ohio State University campus and the community at large.  One of the most important aspects of the organization is its engagement in community service projects.  MWANAFUNZI gives back to the community each year.  MWANAFUNZI participates where volunteers are needed  in community-sponsored projects.  Examples include handing out Thanksgiving dinners at Victory Homeless Shelter and passing out Christmas Stocking to the children at Godman Guild.

    • United Negro College Fund - The Columbus Local Chapter of NABSW is participating in the UNCF Walk-A-Thon on Saturday October 4th @ 7:45AM in Wolfe Park, located at 105 Park Drive Cols, OH.  MWANAFUNZI is not walking (unless you want to), but this is not one of our service projects.  However, MWANAFUNZI is assisting the Local Chapter in raising monies in support of their participation in the Walk-A-Thon and to raise monies for UNCF.  This will go on until Monday November 3rd.  Please consider making donations and spread the word to your colleagues.  The sponsor form will be located on the Third Floor outside Traci's office (room 310).  Any amount will due $10, $5 or $2...anything!

    • Lazarus - We have approximately 100 all-day shopping passes to get rid of by Saturday October 25th.  The shopping passes are going for $5 and enables the purchaser to receive $5 off a single purchase between the hours of 9AM-1PM on Saturday October 25th (even exchange).  Also, any purchases made after 1PM will receive 10-20% off. 

    • OSU College of Social Work Shirt Sale - We will be taking orders up until October 31st.  Please spread the word.  Make sure that you purchase your very own shirt, if you don't already have one. You should see flyer/order forms hanging around the college, and should have also received one in your mailbox.
